Trigg Family Fun Raceday 

Treat the whole clan to classic summer memories and smiles with a fun-filled day trackside at the Trigg Family Raceday on January 6th 2026.

Enjoy exciting racing action while the kids are entertained in the free Trigg Kids Zone or competing in the foot races on the track.  Relax and enjoy a drink, select from a variety of food options, listen to live music in the Corona Courtyard, and let the “Punters’ Club” find a winner for you.

General admission: 

$15 entry to the course for 18 years and over. Whangarei bus to the course is free.

Gates open: 11am .

Come dressed in casual wear but remember it is an outdoor event and is weather dependent so there maybe changes to what is available and the timing of events. Read the Ts and Cs of entry in the About Section of this website.

Transport and Car Parking: 

Car parking at the course is free but please follow directions of staff.

There will be free return raceday buses from Whangarei with bus pick up times to be finalised once race times are confirmed. Pick up points are Kamo Club; Kamo Hotel; Kensington Tavern;  Rose Street Bus Terminal;  The Judge House of Ale. Other pick up points can be arranged for large groups by contacting the office. Additional pick up points will be Marsden Cove Marina carpark,  One Tree Point Dairy and Ruakaka Beach Motor Camp.

Food & Drink

Bars, Bayview Cafe, Bean on the Scene coffee van, Food Trucks and betting operations will be open from an hour before the first race. Approx 11.30am.

Punters Club

Get your Punters Club ticket from the main gate entry or at the Grandstand table and let our Track Spy make the selections and bets for you. Bets and Results will be displayed on the big screen and around course with the payout results announced after race 6.

Indoor/Outdoor Options

Choose your spot .. ..on the lawn hill, on the seats in the shade of the grandstand roof or in one of the function rooms open for the public..all with no charge.

Eftpos will be available from selected betting windows and bars but there are no credit card facilities.

 

The Ruakaka Racecourse is a NO BYO Alcohol venue. Full terms and conditions of entry are detailed in the ABOUT SECTION of this website.

PACKAGES

The Lindauer Lawn is an exclusive fenced area located on the front lawn of the home straight and right at the heart of the racing action.

YOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES:

Reserved 3m x 3m mini marquee for 10 guests with table and 10 chairs

Racebook and general admission per guest.

Two beverage vouchers per guest

Food platter to your marquee to start the day followed by BBQ buffet lunch and dessert platter to your table

Dedicated Bar & TAB Facilities with Trackside TV's in this exclusive trackside village with cash & eftpos at bar (or corporate tab an option for businesses)

Big Screen located in front of marquees so you don't miss the action down the back straight

NB: Bookings are for 10 guests per marquee group. Marquees can be joined together for large groups. A table and umbrella with seating for up to 8 additional guests can be added to the front of your marquee for $140 per person. 

Enjoy the shade and comfort of all day reserved seating in this exclusive, perfectly located lounge overlooking the home straight.

$70 per person - $560 per table (8) - less than 8 persons and you may be required to share a table

YOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES:

General admission and race book per guests

Pre-lunch nibbles on arrival followed by buffet lunch, sweet treats, tea and coffee

Cash bar, TAB facilities and TV' in the lounge with an outside courtyard to watch and listen to the live music from A2Stix or watch the races

 

Pre book a 3m x 3m site to erect your gazebo and picnic area and set up the perfect base camp for your family and friends. Located at the bottom of the main public lawn along the home straight fence. Just up the hill are all the amenities including TAB, bar, food vendors, toilets and live music. No BYO alcohol. Only sealed bottles of water and non alcoholic drinks allowed.
