RUAKAKA - NZ'S BEST BET IN WINTER

Excellent prize money to be won in two new concepts at Ruakaka.

The new racing season commences on August 1 and the Whangarei Racing Club has two exciting racing initiatives for the new season – Harcourts Series for fillies and mares and the Dunstan Accumulator for the trainers of stayers.

The two initiatives have been developed under the NZTR Innovation Fund concept and strongly supported by sponsors, Harcourts and Dunstan Horsefeeds.

$60,000 1600m Benchmark Rating 82 (F&M) Saturday Sept 10th

The Harcourts For Hospice Fillies & Mares Series Final is worth $60,000 and will be run over 1600 metres as a benchmark rating 82, for fillies and mares, on September 10th at Ruakaka. There are no early nominations but seven chances to be exempt from the ballot for the race and win an additional $3,000.

Qualifying races for ballot exemption and, $3,000 bonus, if the winner is a filly or mare.

Sat July 16 – Rating 74 – 1200 m

Sat July 16 – Rating 65 1200m fillies & mares – NZ Insurance Pearl Series Race

Sat Aug 6 – Rating 75 1600m

Sat Aug 6 – Rating 65 1300m

Sat Aug 20 – Open 1400m

Sat Aug 20 – Rating 75 1600m fillies & mares – NZ Insurance Pearl Series Race

Sat Aug 20 - Rating 65 1600m

 

TRAINER WINS $5,000 AND 1 TONNE OF DUNSTAN HORSE FEED

Each trainer accumulates points for each runner in these races at Ruakaka:

  • Sat Aug 6 - $40,000 Alibaba’s Flying Carpets Kerikeri Cup - Open 2100m
  • Sat Aug 6 - $30,000 Rating 65 2100m
  • Sat Aug 20 - $40,000 Ruakaka Cup – Open 2200m
  • Sat Sep 10 - $40,000 Harcourts Tai Tokerau Cup – Open 2200m
  • Sat Sept 10 - $30,000 Dunstan Accumulator – Rating 65 2200m

 

                                                                                                                                   

The trainer with the most points earned across these series of races will be declared the winner of the Dunstan Accumulator Trainer’s Bonus.

Points allocated to trainer based on the finishing position of each runner with points allocated as follows: 1st – 9pts; 2nd – 7pts; 3rd – 5pts; 4th – 2pts; with every other runner 1pt.
