DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS sponsors the Dunstan Accumulator

The Dunstan Accumulator will be finalised with the running of two races on Saturday, race 2 the Harcourts Tai Tokerau Cup and race 8 the Dunstan Accumulator, both over the 2200 metres.

The successful trainer of this series wins $5,000 and one tonne of Dunstan Horsefeed delivered to their stable door.

The current leader after three race meetings is Chris Gibbs with 17 points but he does not have a starter in either race on Saturday. The points allocated to each trainer by the finishing position of their starters with 1st - 9pts; 2nd-7pts; 3rd-5pts; 4th-3pts; 5th-2pts and 1pt for all other runners.

The following trainers with runners in the two races must be more favoured to score the big prize.

Tony Pike is on 12 points and has the very successful River Run in the cup and Outrival in race 8 the Dunstan Accumulator. The combination of Shaun Ritchie and Colm Murray is the likely biggest challenger to Pike as they have the last start Ruakaka winner Hail The Damage and Khan Hunter engaged in the two races.

Other challengers include Mark Brosnan with Lord Polonius and Shaun Phelan with Hit The Road Jack, also a last start winner at Ruakaka.

Even though it is a small field for the Harcourts Tai Tokerau Cup it could determine which trainer wins the very valuable prize of $6,000 as a win by either the Pike, Phelan or Ritchie/Murray runners would push them past the current leader in Chris Gibbs.
